Why isn’t Treme Nominated for Any Music Emmys? | Paste @PasteMagazine

Despite having a totally awesome soundtrack, David Simon’s HBO New Orleans drama Treme won’t be seeing any Emmys for music this year. According to Variety, this is because Television Academy officials said the show is ineligible in at least three music-related categories (Outstanding Main Title Theme Song, Music Direction and Outstanding Music Composition for a Series) and has yet to enter any others. Its theme song, John Boutte’s “Treme Song,” isn’t eligible because it was recorded for one of Boutte’s studio albums.
